At the Bushido Dojo, we strive to develop the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, through training and emphasis of the seven principles of Bushido:

These principles guide us not only on our journey in Karate, but also through life. In this way, Goju-Ryu is not only an effective form of self defense, but is a template for  balanced living.
Bushido Dojo is affiliated with World Sansei Goju-Ryu Karatedo and Kobudo Organization. World Sansei was established in 1980 by Hanshi Manny Saavedra, and currently has over 220 schools in 15 international regions. We are also the sponsor of the Silver Cup International Karate Competition, held annually, in Miami, Fl.

 

Leo Tapanes, Sensei

 

I began my journey in the world of Martial Arts at the age of 5. During this journey. I have studied Shotokan Karate, Traditional Ju Jutsu, and Goju-Ryu Karate. I currently hold a Roku Dan, 6th Degree Black Belt in Goju Ryu. Additionally, I am a current member of the Board of Directors for World Sansei Koryu Goju-Ryu Karatedo and Kobudo Organization.

 

Manny Saavedra, Hanshi

Manny A. Saavedra is founder and Kaicho of the World Sansei Koryu Goju-Ryu Karatedo Organization-World Sansei. Saavedra Sensei trained with Peter G. Urban Sensei, receiving master level, advanced black belt degrees from said instructor. In the late 1970's, Saavedra Sensei formed the International Sansei Goju-Ryu Karate and Kobudo Organization to develop and propgate the art.
